Rev. Edward L. Boyce, III

Ed is a seasoned and experienced pastor with over 23 years of pastoral experience. Ed received his BA in History and his Minor in Religious Studies from Virginia Commonwealth University in his hometown of Richmond, VA. During college he worked full-time for American Bearing and Power Transmission in a variety of sales and management positions serving the manufacturing industry in and around Richmond, VA while attending classes at night.

Ed received his Master of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary in Virginia where he met his wife, Marian Carmical in the seminary’s cafeteria. After graduation, Ed worked for the Union Theological Seminary library for 2 years as the Circulation Librarian. Ed oversaw and managed a student staff of 20 people who helped process 3 million checked out books a year.

In 1998, Ed and Marian received the call to co-pastor 3 churches in Henderson, NC. Their son, Will, was born during their time in Henderson. Since then Ed has pastored churches in LA, VA, NC, and PA before moving to Rockport, Texas in August of 2020.

Ed is passionate about congregational transformation, preaching and leading joyful worship, helping Christians discover their spiritual gifts, equipping others for ministry, developing servant leaders who listen for God’s call, providing pastoral care at all stages of life, equipping disciples who live joyfully and generously, and helping inwardly focused congregations become more outwardly focused.

Ed grew up in a Christian family and has been an active church musician since he joined his church’s orchestra in 6th grade. Ed enjoys playing and singing music, making electric guitars, cooking, baseball, reading spy novels, and spending time with his wife, Marian.

Moving to the Coastal Bend of Texas and Rockport in the summer of 2020, Ed and Marian look forward to becoming even more involved in the lives of church members and the larger community.
